Danny McAllister is a normal human being. He has received training via the Las Vegas Police Department. He is an excellent marksman, and has superb detective skills. A lifetime of Boxing has made him an Expert fist-fighter, and given him a high pain threshold.
He carries a Colt 1911 semi-auto pistol.
History:
Danny McAllister grew up in the seedier parts of Las Vegas. Despite the rampant violence and corruption that surrounded him, his belief in justice and right and wrong where molded by both his family priest, who got him interested in boxing, as well as the Cop Drama's he'd watch on Television. Living in a low rent apartment, and without a safe place to play, he'd sit transfixed in front of the TV, watching reruns of Hawaii-50, The Untouchables, Hill-street Blues... and others. It instilled in him the naive belief that a single person could save the world around him. It this that motivated him to join the academy, and later become an Officer in LVPD.
It was a rough beat, being one of the few honest cops left in a corrupt precinct. Despite this, he managed to perservere... successfully taking the exam and becoming a detective. It was here that he was able to shine... to actually make a difference in cleaning up the streets. It was only a matter of time before his naivete collided mercilessly into a brick wall.
He was the primary in the case of a brutal Assault and Rape of a College student by her ex-boyfriend. Taking her statement at the hospital, he promised her that he would get justice. Danny had an airtight case... Witness testimony, DNA samples, even footage of the deed by dorm security cameras. When interviewing the perpetrator, the kid only smiled with a cocky grin and said 'my dad will fix this'. Within a days time... the case disintegrated. The boys father, a prominent politician, pulled strings within the department. After he was through having witnesses bought off and evidence 'misplaced'. Danny almost had a heart attack seeing the perpetrator walk away with a cocky smile across his face. He refused to relent... continuing to push the investigation. He rose such a stink that the boy's father turned his attentions toward Danny.
" Make this easier on yourself and drop the Case" is what his immediate superiors told him in a private meeting. 'Friendly Advise' that he promptly ignored, even with a promotion offered to him. Within a weeks time he was brought up for disciplinary actions on charges of Corruption. His options where made crystal clear; challenge this and face jail time, or 'retire'.
He cleaned out his desk the next day. The girl was committed a week later after an apparent 'suicide attempt'. Her ex held a party, paid for by his father, as a belated celebration of his release.
With his sense of right and wrong shattered, he grew dis-illusion ed, finding his solace at the bottom of a bottle. He had lost all direction, drowning his sorrows and wasting his pension on blackjack and ladies . He was headed down the road to self-destruction until an old Friend came for a favor; to investigate his sister's new Beau. It was here that his drive was re-kindled... and he found a new calling.
He works now as a private investigator in Las Vegas. While the work of trailing cheating husbands and locating hoarded money does pay the bills, he still feels it a far cry from his work on the beat, secretly longing for a chance to actually help someone.
