Name: Kallisti Ravenhurst
Alias/Code Name: Discordia
Age: 15
Character Type: Demi Goddess
Gender: Female
Alignment: Good
Appearance:
About 5'4, 120 pounds, shoulder length black hair, black eyes, Usually dresses conservatively.
Personality: Kallisti is quiet, and tends to fall into the "Spoke when spoken to" ways of her upbringing.
She is a warm girl that would open up, but she has never had a stable environment to interact with others in such a way, so it wouldn't occur to her.
She doesn't make friends easily, because she's always seen her situations as temporary, not lasting.
She's upbeat and positive. Very casually honest.
Likes: Guns for recreation, (Not battle. Not hunting. Target shooting, and at times, paint-ball.) Video Games. (especially first person shooter rpg) Sauna's, root beer, rock and roll, anime.
Dislikes: Wimps, Slobs, the way eating tons of junk-food makes her feel, Losing self control, Dishonesty.
Strengths: She's strong. Dependable. Honest.
Weaknesses: Her powers come from an outside source. (At this point anyhow... see end of 'powers tag' for more info)
If the Goddess feels like it, she can take that power away.
Adrestia is the one that Bestowed the powers, and she is a Goddess of Vengeance and Balance. If Kallisti goes too far out of balance, the Goddess will take them away.
She's trained to follow a command, if no orders are given, she's not likely to act on her own. This is a weakness that in battle, if there's no direction or lead to follow, she's not going to be of much help, and never being a super hero before, she has no experience to draw ideas on actions from.
Powers/Weapons:
Before she was imbued with the power of the Goddess, She was put through several juvenile boot camp styled programs. She's capable and learned in hand to hand combat.
And knows a good deal about guns, and can recognize military artillery.
She's also good at following the orders of command.
She's very capable on a computer. Not hacker capable, but can use one just like every normal teenager now a days.
She has the basic Demi-God/dess set up: Super Human Strength, Super Human Agility, Super Human Durability, and Flight.
notations: I'm not giving her the Super Human Speed. Cassie and Hercules will be able to fly and run circles around her if they ever met.
At this point. If she goes through something of a trial she has potential to awaken her own Demi-Godhood, like Cassie, and Hercules, But she just recently came into her powers, she's never been a Super Hero, I seriously doubt that's something she can accomplish ANY time soon. (it's not even in the plans at this point, just a potential.)
Spear of Discord.
Kallisti's artifact is made from her Mother's Golden Apple of Discord.
Originally used both to start the Trojan War, and a fight within the United Nations against the Amazons, The Apple has the power to make people fight.
The Goddess' aspect Eris was killed in battle and the Apple was 'lost' in time it seemed.
With the Eris aspect defeated, the more ancient form Adrestia reclaimed the Apple, turning the Golden Apple into a Golden Short Spear, giving it to Kallisti.
As a basic weapon it acts just like a short spear made of pure gold.
It can also be used like the apple.
If pulled out on the battlefield, it acts like an Area of Effect attack, causing everyone, friend or foe, including and especially Kallisti herself, consuming them with the want to fight. (Think Wolverine Berserker rage style)
The people effected will start fighting, and keep fighting, no matter what kind of injury or damages to self, until the fight is over.
When the effect wears off, all injuries occurred in the state will hit the people involved, all exhaustion and over extension done while under the effects will also be added.
All Kallisti has to do to shut it off, is put it away.
This power can effect any being short of a true God/dess.
The 'area of effect' is everyone within a quarter mile radius to the spear itself.
I would like to make some notes on the spear and use.
My creation on this one is inspired by the DCU Greek pantheon, and their use of relic weapons.
It's like the lassos Wondergirl and Wonderwoman have. It is not always useful in a fight, and it is not the primary focus of the character. It is a secondary tool and plot device.
Kallisti is not a trained spear fighter. Though she could use it in battle, it's not as functional or practical as her brute strength and fists, and learned hand to hand combat abilities.
Also, it's effects are not controllable. If the effect lasts, it's possible to turn teammates against each-other even.
It draws everyone to fight, and brings out bad things in Kallisti as the bearer of the weapon.
It's not something she's going to be comfortable using.
Having the ability to effect all players in the plot by just coming out, it's held by my personal rule of board balance, and will be used the way I use other 'higher powers' in play, completely plotted and agreed on before put into play.
It's inactive form is about 2 feet in length. And Kallisti keeps it covered in a black cloth.
It extends to 6 feet in length when in use.
Inactive form:
Origin:
The Goddess Adrestia, child of Aphrodite and Ares, a Goddess of Revenge and Balance, manifested as Eris in the DC Universe.
One of the Children of Ares, She was best known for using the Golden Apple of Discord against the United Nations, resulting in strife for the Amazons.
In her time on Earth, she had a brief union with General James Ravenhurst, a 4 star General in the United States Marines, resulting in the birth of Kallisti.
The Goddess never had any intention of settling down, and when called by her brothers to possess Poison Ivy, ultimately defeated by a slew of DC Super heroes, She left the child with it's father, still an infant.
A 4 star General, overseeing an entire region in Afghanistan, didn't have time for a child, setting her up in child boot camp styled programs and other forms of private schooling to raise her for him.
Being brought up as a military brat, handled by everyone but her own father, she never really gained any relationships growing up.
If she made any friends, when her father moved to the next outpost, she was always forced to leave them behind.
The General never allowed himself the luxury of a family life, so when a sleeper sect of terrorists kidnap Kallisti, demanding things of the General, it was simple for him to tell them 'We do not negotiate with Terrorists', effectively leaving Kallisti in their hands, with no hope of rescue.
Kallisti was present to hear her father's words condemning her to an ugly fate.
Filling with feelings of revenge, Kallisti suffered yet another beating at the hands of her captors, before being tossed in a cell to be properly disposed of later, no longer useful in anyway.
Left alone, to stew on everything, Kallisti berated her father, and called out to the Goddess Eris in anger, cursing her as well. (She is aware of her parentage. Her father may be a dick, but he's not a liar.)
In this state she manages to bring the attention of the Goddess Adrestia, who's actions as Eris put Kallisti's life into such motions to begin with.
The Goddess imbued Kallisti with her powers, to give her the ability to get herself free of her captors.
Because of the effect of the spear, Kallisti tore the sect wide open and left it in pieces, flying home on her new found powers, intent on taking a piece out of her father as well.
When facing her father, he said he would not take back his decision, and if she meant to kill him for it, he couldn't stop her.
Adrestia appears once again, reminding Kallisti of the concept of balance, silencing the powers of the spear, to clear Kallisti's head, making her actually think of the consequences, and causing her to drop the fight completely, leaving her father alive.
With balance achieved, the Goddess moves to put Kallisti's life on a better path, leaving her with the power, and tipping the General off on contacting the Teen Titans.
A team known for training the next generation of Super Heroes, the General couldn't disagree with the plan.
