"I will love you like no other, for I have died a thousand deaths, and each time I thought of you."
- Dawn
It is easy to understate the role that an administrator plays in a community, to write them off as a mechanism of the board itself and forget the person behind them. I have no doubt that some have felt this way towards Dawn....but this is a great disservice to her, and one I think none of our current members share.
She is the Goddess of the board, and we should all love her for that. For the tender way that she deals with our ill emotions, soothes our heartaches and pains, acts as mother, friend, and lover all to us. Like her namesake, Dawn has been cut by the thorns of the rose, and been held in chains to us. Like her namesake she has perceviered through all, and sought nothing less than the continued health of this board.
She is a great woman, and I have a great well of pride in my chest at each and every thought of her. She makes me proud to be a part of this...and so I'm posting this thread as a thank you to her, a collection of words and songs to thank her for what she has given to use, to remember the many times that we've shared.
My first choice is approriate to how I feel about her, the magick she brings to the world about her, the enlightnement she has wrought in my world. Written before paganism had become accepted in the modern world, it still conveys strongly a subtext of this magick that she holds.
This is Witchcraft, by Frank Sinatra
Those fingers in my hair
That sly come hither stare
That strips my conscience bare
It's witchcraft
And I've got no defense for it
The heat is too intense for it
What good would common sense for it do
'Cause it's witchcraft, wicked witchcraft
And although, I know, it's strictly taboo
When you arouse the need in me
My heart says yes indeed in me
Proceed with what your leading me to
It's such an ancient pitch
But one I wouldn't switch
'Cause there's no nicer witch than you
