Post by Seere on May 5, 2010 19:41:03 GMT -5
True Name: Sitri
Alias/Code Name: Seere (among demons), Sarah Dee (among humans)
Age: Immortal
Character Type: Succubus, formerly a Princess of Hell.
Gender: Female
Alignment: Neutral at best, evil by nature, working towards good.
Appearance:
Personality: By nature, Seere is a spiteful, wicked temptress, seeking to cause despair and lead mortals astray, fueled both by malice and an insatiable drive for carnal pleasures. And while none of that has changed, now, she fights hard to resist them, replacing suffering with kindness and repaying generosity with thanks. She has to fight to resist her old temptations, as no matter how much she wishes otherwise, changing ones nature. At best, she can be seen as a dark, but noble figure, a vixen who stalks the darkness and brings pain to those who deserve it. At her worst, it can be hard to tell her apart from other demons. Yet no matter the struggles, she wants nothing more than to raise up above her own failings and prove that she is capable of more than inherent evil. She seeks her redemption, and to that end, works to enact good and make amends for the pain and suffering she has brought. A fugitive from hell and an abomination to heaven, she has nobody with whom to confide in, none who understand her true nature. She is not one to trust, knowing so well from her own actions how easy it is to be manipulated by those who you put your faith in, though part of her seeks guidance and support, someone to believing that she is no longer the same hell spawned fiend.
Likes: romance, sex (Succubus), The taste of poison (arsenic and cyanide being her favorites), people who exhibit mercy
Dislikes: sexual predators, absolutism, demons
Strengths: Seduction, infiltration and manipulation, intelligent, Difficult to kill.
Weaknesses: Vulnerability to Holy power, Subject to binding, True name, Shunned by both heaven and hell.
Powers/Weapons:
Immortality: As a Powerful demon in her own right, Seere is both ageless and virtually impossible to be killed in most circumstances. Conventional means of harm are at best an annoyance, and while powerful magics can cause her harm, they alone are insufficient to permanently end her existence, though if weakened enough she can be forced back to hell. Only demons more powerful than herself, or celestial beings of greater might, as well as beings of possessing deity level powers, can permanently kill her. She requires neither food, nor rest, nor air to survive. Illness and toxic substances are harmless to her (she even has a fondness for the taste of certain poisons).
Shape shifting: Seere can change her form greatly, both in appearance and scale. However, no matter what form she takes, her abilities do not change. She is no stronger when in the form of a dragon, nor weaker when changed into a fly. She is not limited to living forms, and can also take the guise of objects or smoke. Her personal tastes lead her to choose human forms, particularly that of a woman, over others.
Consume Spirit: As a succubus, Seere is sustained by the souls of mortal beings. Though she does not require the energy gained from this to survive, her abilities are greatly weakened if she goes a prolonged period without feeding. Typically she needs anywhere from one to three feedings per month, though she has gone centuries at a time without feeding, albeit at great discomfort. To draw out the life force, she needs to kiss the victim, or engage them in sexual intercourse. While this action is usually both deadly and a reflex on her part, she can partially suppress her instinct through considerable effort on her part, lessening its impact. Even so, having part of a persons soul removed is enough to leave them exhausted to the point of being unable to move. Repeated feedings from the same individual would still eventually kill them, or at least shorten their lifespan. The actual act is euphoric, both for Sarah and her victim, being described as the greatest ecstasy that a person is ever likely to experience, especially true in the cases where it is fatal.
Empathy: Seere possesses a limited form of empathy that allows her to detect a persons sexual feelings and desires. While it never goes away entirely, she can filter its intensity so that only strong spikes catch her notice, or increase its potency till it borders on shared sensations. Her sense also allows her to sense evil, sin, and temptation within in individual. Her empathy is sensitive enough to identify different individuals based on the feelings she gets from them.
Demonic nobility: Even though she has renounced her ways and title, Sarah is still Seere, and as such, holds no small authority over the infernal forces. Having formerly commanded 60 legions of 6000 demons each, she can call upon and command lesser demons, whom are compelled to obey her. Given her attempts to change, she not only loath having to resort to this, but gambles the safty of those around her to do so, given that those under her command no longer have any loyalty towards her, and most would take any opportunity to actively cause harm to her in any manner possible, be it direct or in direct.
Storms of passion: Seere does not wield hellfire, but instead can summon forth the fury of an infernal storm. Commanding wind and lightning, she can unleash these forces upon her opponents. Mystical in nature, these storms are not affected in the same way as their mundane counterparts. Hellish lightning is not hindered by insulating materials, for example.
Sway: Possessing the ability to tempt mortals, Seere can overwhelm their minds and compel them to obey her. However, she cannot force them to do anything that they would not be willing to do if persuaded. With a glance, she consumes a mortals mind and brings forth all the temptations it feels, removing their inhibitions and subverting their will. But it does not remove their ability to choose. A person cannot be made to do something that they are completely set against. They must, even if only on the subconscious level, want to do what she commands of them. If a persons mind is free of any internal conflict and possesses no desire to agree with her, than they her power is useless. A person under her sway is still aware of their actions, and it is possible to change their mind and remove the temptation they feel, thus breaking her hold. This technique is best used when combined with mundane forms of persuasive, which allow her to create the moment of temptation she needs.
Possession: Seere may possess a mortal who harbors evil in their soul, allowing her to directly control their body and mind. She can be driven out by exorcism. Alternative, she could take up residence in a willing person.
Invisibility: Seere may become undetectable to all human senses at will, and my very both the senses she is detected by, as well as who may observe her.
Flight: Either by sprouting wings or moving under her own power, Seere can fly at up to 300 mph.
Improved attributes: Seere is physically equal to the peak human abilities in all respects. Her strength, reflexes, coordination and agility are all at the maximum level it is possible for a human to reach, while her stamina exceeds even that. Her senses area all superior to that of a human being, with her sense of touch being the most developed.
Weaknesses:
Feeding: As stated above, going without feeding is not deadly to her, but prolonged fasting weakens her abilities, causing their effectiveness to diminish and their punch to disappear. Inversely, she is at her most powerful when well fed, and therefor, at her most dangerous.
Holy objects: Though seeking repentance, she is a demon, and there is no avoiding that. Objects of a holy nature are anathema to her, causing discomfort even at a distance, and outright agony at a touch. A cross that has been blessed, holy ground or holy water, relics from saintly figures all are very dangerous to her. Words read from scripture cause her eyes, nose, mouth and ears to bleed as she is struck with the power behind them.
Binding word: Demons are supernatural beings which are bound to their word. Once entered into a contract or oath, Seere is forcibly bound to follow through with it, though anyone foolish enough to try and bind a demon to their service through such means deserves what they get, as even the least intelligent hell-spawn can manipulate the terms of the agreement to their own ends.
True name: Lastly, by knowing a demons true name, you gain control over them. By speaking her name aloud, a person can summon her from anywhere in existence, and compel her to serve them. Writing a true name on an object rendered that object indestructible to any effort the demon makes. A true name is the ultimate hold over a demon, and as such, is her most preciously guarded secret.
History: In the beginning, The Creator brought forth the Heavens and the Earth. And for a time, it was good. But among Gods Angels, there was one who was discontent, and so did Lucifer raise up and seek to replace the creator. In his rebellion, he was defeated, and for his betrayal, he and those who joined him we're cast out of paradise, down into the darkest pit, and left to dwell there for all time.
Into this pit was born the succubus Seere, One of many Children of the Arch demon Mammon, who presided over the sin of lust. Into the The Nobility which defined the seating of power in the lower rings, Seere was created in the position of Princess, holding command of 60 legions of demonic soldiers. As all demons, she had but three concerns. The acquisition of more power, the corruption of all things mortal, and the endless torment of the souls of humans already bound into the pit. In this, she reigned with an iron fist. Taking millions of forms, she has turned countless mortals away from the path and ensured their eternal damnation. And for a time, it was good.
Seere's fortune was not to last. During the westward expansion of the united state, she took the guise of a nun. After infiltrating the convent, she used an opportunity to steal away in the night, slipping into an orphanage nearby, where she proceed not only to consume the souls of each and every one of the children, but mutilated their lifeless bodies, painting the walls in their bile and entrails. When she was discovered the following day, the townsfolk went mad with rage. They tied her to a stake and had her burned. Seere simply escaped the fire in the form of a smoke cloud, and watched with gleeful delight as the town turned against the other nuns, killing few, wounding many, and driving them away in their rage. She'd caused an entire town to descend to blasphemy.
But fortune was not with her. Word of her actions spread quickly, and to those who knew the signs, was a clear sign of her presence. She evaded many, but was captured before she could retreat to hell. Held in a pentacle, her captors deliberated. Rather than send her back to hell with an exorcism, where she would not only be rewarded for her actions, but free to return, they enacted a different different choice. Using long thought to be lost magics, they worked a great bit of power upon her, transforming the energy she'd gained from her recent feed, causing it to meld and blend with her.
They gave her a soul.
Seere was struck with the crushing pain as she felt the weight of all her sins hit her in a single moment. She nearly went mad from it, enduring in agony the full brunt of all the crimes she had ever done. Her newly developed conscience. It was only then that they banished her. But she little cared. Or rather, she cared far to much. Now possessing a distinct moral center, her home was just as much a torment for her as it was the condemned, though in a different way. After the shock wore off, she tired to go back to her old ways. She attempted to behave as she always had. But there was now a sliver of compassion. Some small part of her felt guilt at her crimes.
Like a grain of sand inside an oyster, this irritation only grew stronger over time. Over years, she began to loath every moment she spent in hell. At the same time, she no longer saw the acts of kindness she witnessed as being meaningless. Her discontent and disgust grew till she could no longer stand it, and she left.
Just as Lucifer betrayed god and rebelled, so to did Seere betray the devil and abandon hell, wanting nothing more to do with it. She took up sanctuary on earth, knowing that heaven nor hell would accept her now. She has since attempted to truely change her ways, working to suppress the evil that she was created with and find some sort of meaning to her existence, hoping to one day perhaps redeem herself for all the evil's she has committed. Taking up a name of Sarah Dee, and assuming a human guise, she has begun searching for her path.
