* A sunny day in Autumn... the leaves, just turning from a healthy green to the brilliant shades of brown, orange, and yellow that signifies harvests end. The year nears full circle... like with all life, it has a beginning and an end. A little hand reaches up, trying to pluck a ripened apple from one of the branches. A raven haired little girl strains, desperately trying to grab on to the red fruit, as she stands upon her elder brothers shoulders. Her prize eventually won... he brings her down, and using a new trick learned from Grandpa, slices the fruit in two. And the two sit under the tree, Basking in the warm light of the sun.*
* not like today*
* The Rain beats down hard today. Even with my gear on, I find myself soaked down to the very bone as I navigate my way across the icy waters of the bay. My teeth painfully chatter in time with each paddle-stroke. Here I am, an ex-army sergeant having trouble moving through these waters in a sportsman's class raft, yet they honestly think 3 convicts could have escaped the rock on makeshift raft made out of raincoats? I'll be lucky if I don't die of pneumonia out here.*
* I don't intend to die... not yet... *
* Within moments, my intended target begins to come into view, partially obscured by the rain and fog, it's visage becomes ever clearer the closer I get. Titan Tower. As the monolithic structure comes ever more clearly into view, I have to ask myslef... who the hell sets up base-camp to look like a Giant T? It's unbeleivable... they might as well slap a giant bullseye on it. A gaudy construct like this wouldn't have lasted a week in the gulf. Hell, I'm already coming ashore and no welcome wagon. This is completely amateur from a military standpoint. I cringe as I hop out, the near-frozen waters digging into my flesh like a thousands needles, as I begin pulling my raft ashore. My feet finally step on relatively dry land, as I drag the raft ashore... and still no response.*
* This is downright Sloppy*
* Once I get the raft hidden, I start moving. They say that tragedies always hit in threes... it wasn't until several months back that I learned the truth in that. It took teenage stupidity and a tour in the desert for me to learn what was really important, and it was due to my failure it was so suddenly torn away. I couldn't save her... and two more died because of it. The texts told us of this... when one of us die under specific circumstances, we fail to ascend... we not only become one of the restless, we become something far more frightening... something I don't like thinking about. In this new state... she seems motivated to strike against family members... *
* And the trail of blood has lead me here.*
* I make my way through the outer perimeter... still without any response. Are they all out partying or something? Anyone who tried getting this close should have been pounced on before landfall. As I move into their courtyard, I briefly take cover next to one of several statues sitting in the monolith's shadow, trying to decide on my next move. As I hide next to these memorials to their own fallen, I reach into my coat-pocket, pulling my pack of reds from their usual place... only to find them thoroughly soaked. Useless. I grumble, dropping the soggy pack of lights to the ground and crushing them under my boot.*
* Insult added on to the Injuries. What next?*

It's time for maintenance on the tower. Vic has assured me that he's got all the mechanical side of things under control, but my help is needed to watch the island while our system is down. To make matters worse, it's raining, hard. Keeping in eye on rolling seas, can make vision blurry. And, makes flying a bit difficult, the raindrops pelting me at higher speeds, hard enough to bruise. I land on top of the right arm of the giant T, looking out, soaked through completely. I really hope the security goes up soon, I don't like how exposed I feel. We're not just exposed with the system down, but there's aren't many Titan's here with power to defend our home. Vic will have to keep on the system, and Alyssa's too new to be expected to jump into a huge battle so soon. I don't believe there's anyone else home. Figuring that vision in such poor conditions is foolish to continue trying, I tighten the 'grid' so to speak, and fly to ground level. I won't be able to spot anyone far off, so a better tactical recourse is to defend closer to home. And as soon as I'm on the ground, I see someone off in the distance, a raft on shore showing how they got here, I take off in an orange blur, dulled by the massive drops of falling rain. I pull up close enough he can see me, a hand out to stop him.
[glow=purple,2,300]Halt! You're trespassing on Titan Territory, Identify yourself now.[/glow]
I look him over up close, but that doesn't do me too much good, he's soaked to the bone, and looks like someone who just rowed across the water in this storm, which isn't too good. He doesn't look like any super villain. My battle instincts stay alert, in case he has friends around, somethings not right here. No one's stupid enough to sneak onto this island to attack without real power.

Pulling her knees to the center of her chest Alyssa sits on her bed. Is this what it is meant to feel like being a hero she thinks to herself, The punch the gut feeling of uselessness as you watch someone you care about die.
Sitting by her open window she could her the rain drops and feel the wind as it breezes through. She felt bad abut not making the training session Robin and her had planed but she just didn't have it in her. He said he understood but it made her feel bad about that also because if she was going to be a part of this team she had to be able to work with and they had to have trust that she could handle herself.
Anthony she never really got the chance to be a family with him she would never argue over the small things like her choices in boyfriends or the way she dressed as she got older. But of the short time they were together they shared a fight with a demon and meet the Titans and even shared a few laughs.
Wiping the tears from her eyes Alyssa sees what seems like Starfire fly by her window. Getting up out of her bed she walks over to her closet and changes her clothes changing out of her Pj's she put on pair of blue jeans a white t-shirt and then a baby blue sweater. after putting on her socks and a pair of boots she grabs a rain coat and heads outside.
She had to do something a day would come when she would have no choice but to act even if only by taking a baby step at a time. Stepping outside and pulling the hood of her rain coat up Alyssa finds it still hard to see. The wind was blowing the rain in her face cupping one of her left hand she places it in front of her face to shield her eyes from the rain. It wasn't as much as she would to have liked but giving the fact she had few other choices she moved on.
Even with her boots the combination of the Rain the and the fact it was dark was beginning to make this dangerous for her but she knew star would not leave her hanging if she thought any of the titans needed help. Almost falling she catches herself at this point her rain coat was wet and her pants were beginning to get soaked which meant she had to her so she could get out of the rain before she caught a cold or something.
Alyssa finally spots Starfire even though she knew star has super hearing shouting was not an option she wasn't a person who liked to shout so getting close was her goal. Her heart starts to pond she has to get there she would not anyone hurt her she refused to be late.
The wind blows her hood off just she get close to Star and before she could open her mouth to ask what’s was going on she gets splashed by a title wave. Alyssa wanted to shout fuck as loud as she could she was now really soaked her hair was a mess and on top of that she had cold feet she really hates the feel of cold wet feet. Alyssa hair was now covering her face. Holding her hair to each side of her Alyssa look and sees someone had made there and looked like whoever it was swam there.
"Star Should get the others involved?"

* Sounds like I spoke too soon*
* Out of nowhere, a voice rings out, that of a woman, an assertive tone in her voice. Combat training kicks in immediately as I turn to face this person. Light flashes... my heritage coming forth, arching out into a bow forged of yellow energy held firmly in my left hand.... a single shaft forged from psychic energy at the ready. Beneath my ski-mask, the irises of my eyes turn from their unnatural blue shade to a glowing yellow, the whites darkening over. Thunder spits the sky as I line up the shot as I take my defensive position.*
* As the lightening's glare dies along with that initial spike of adrenaline, I can better appreciate the current situation. In my cross-hairs is an orange-skinned woman... a 6 foot goddess clad in a purple Swimsuit. The elements haven't been too kind for her either... the cold water dripping down her curvaceous form... auburn hair clinging to her wet body. If this where a standard combat situation, I could have been killed 3 times over in the time I've just wasted ogling her. Male stupidity aside... her piercing green eyes sternly glare down at me as she demands I identify myself.*
* So... the Calvary's finally arrived. I sigh... lowering my bow toward the ground*
[glow=yellow,3,300]" You people sure take your sweet time."[/glow]
* I power down.... letting the shaft and bow disipate.... before assuming the position, raising my hands into the air, a Universally familiar gesture to emphasise what I'm about to say.*
" I'm not looking to cause any trouble... I'm only here.... "
* I pause... seeing another running up in the middle of this monsoon. The wind takes the hood on her raincoat, exposing her to the elements and nearly knocking her on her backside. Can't help but smirk at that. No matter how much things change, they always stay the same. I then pull the saturated mask from my head, and let it flop onto the ground. Hopefully, this will motivate them both to trust me. If Alyssa can even recognize me*
"I'm only here to see Alyssa."
* I lean over to the right... looking back at the thoroughly soaked teen standing right behind 'Star' (or whatever her name is), and I just make a goofy kind of smirk, and wave a little, before giving a solemn, but still friendly, hello.*
" Hey kid. It's been a while."

The man shows me his power, responding to me by lighting up, a yellow glow in this murky setting. I take a more defensive stance, as Alyssa runs out, the weather knocking her around wildly as she arrives. I have not seen Alyssa in combat yet, I don't know how she would respond, and it looks as though she can't even really see through all of this to use her powers anyhow. He throws his hands up, and still I keep myself between Alyssa and the new comer, but notice that he's watching her too, taking off his mask, showing himself, saying that he's here to see her. I look from one to the other,
[glow=purple,2,300]"Alyssa, do you know this man?"[/glow]
I look to the newest Titan, to see if the one who has breached the island, and pointed some form of energy weapon at me, is either friend or foe.

Wiping the cold rain from her face Alyssa looks into his face. His face remind her of the picture she saw in her aunts house. A name she would almost anything to remember the name she feels that she should know it.
For some he reminded her of Silva but she get totally different vibes from him. Hearing her aunts voice brings everything together. Alyssa remembers seeing his picture in her aunts room he is Silva’s brother.
She thought he was in the army or something from the pictures but wasn’t sure as they rarely talked about him. The question now is what was he doing here, was he working with his sister now was he there to finish her off the way Silva murdered her brother.
This was one of those rare times when she wished one of the spirits would appear. Starfire seems a bit confused also asking Alyssa if she know him while remaining ready just in case. “This is my cousin Silva’s brother Eledore, I have no idea of why he would want to me I don’t even know if he working with his sister or not!”
She readies herself she has had very little combat with the titans Robin had said he would help her train but he hasn’t been in the tower. Steadying herself she takes her cross out and holds it in her right hand.
This wasn’t a trying to be tough thing because she would have failed. This was a be careful or be dead situation hoping and praying could be done once the everything was settled.

* It's still wet and cold, and now we can add a standoff to this currently rotten situation. The Amazon makes sure to keep herself in-between Alyssa and me as she asks the kid to vouch for me. It's a bit of a relief actually... that she's with people who care enough to protect her. She might be easy on the eyes... but from her posture, the tone she takes, this woman isn't one to mess with.*
* And if my eyes don't stop wandering, I'm liable to get flattened.*
* I focus on Alyssa, as she stands in this downpour... Just kind of blankly staring at me a moment... like she's doesn't really know what to think of this... right before a bit of a fiery spark lights up as she introduces me as her cousin Silva's brother, she goes on to tell her she doesn't know why I'm here, or whether or not I'm in league with Silva... anger and mistrust heavy in her voice. If that isn't bad enough, she takes a defensive position before she draws down on me!*
* Yeah... this reunion isn't off to a good start... *
" WOAH! Woah... hold up here... Just, hold up..."
* I move my arms down, extending and crossing them as I shake my hands, a gesture which usually tells someone to hold their fire. Without making any sudden moves... I reach onto my wrist, and carefully unclasp the chain that holds my tuner in place, the cross my grandfather gave me, the means to channel my powers... before tossing it on the ground in-between the three of us.*
" See? I'm not here to hurt you. I know what my sister did, what she's become... but I'm not working with her. I'm only here to help you."
* My hands return to the 'surrender' position.... as I stand, unarmed, and thoroughly soaked to the bone in the middle of one incredibly tense stand off. Which could escalate to violence at any moment.*
* I think I had better chances with that fur-ball in Vegas*

Alyssa's reply, doesn't make me very comfortable with the guest, but he seems intent to show us he's not here to fight, throwing his charm on the ground at our feet. I reach down, picking it up before a tide could wash it away, and look at them both, still standing in between them, only this time, it would appear I'm protecting the man against Alyssa's weapon. They just had a death in the family... or two deaths, if the ghostling counts... If the cousin is really here to help, I imagine Alyssa could use someone of blood relation to help her with the grieving process. As I think over the situation, my comm lights up, and Vic's voice rings through very weakly in the storm: 'The repairs are finished Star, you can come back in now, the security is on.' I tap my comm to shut it off, and turn to the others.
[shadow=purple,left,300]You're both going to catch your death in this weather, let's head inside to settle this.[/shadow]
I put my hand on the man's shoulder, squeezing a bit to get an impression across,
[shadow=purple,left,300]I will keep this charm until we settle things, and keep your hands where I can see them, for now. [/shadow]
I push him in front of me, nodding to Alyssa to stay behind me, as we go inside the tower. Once inside, I grab a few micro fiber towels, light weight stuff that absorbs a ton... perfect for drying off after being out in that mess. Once we're all dry, I push them both into the rec-room, having them sit down. If anyone's here to fight, sitting down should put a bit of delay into their moves... give us enough time to try and figure out just what is going on here. I stay on my feet, keeping the man's charm visibly dangling from my fingers as I keep an eye on things.
[shadow=purple,left,300]Alright, talk. [/shadow]
((OOC: you guys can skip me a couple rounds for the conversation if it helps... just act as if I'm still there watching... when we get the 'figuring out' parts past, I can always step back in. ))

She stands there stunned and lets her arms go slack. Alyssa knew how much a tuner means to the user and so she put her tuner in her pocket. She looks into his eye and they seemed to be telling her that he was serious about what he said.
Starfire takes over which is relief to her she picks up her cousins tuner. Cyborg informs them that the tower was fixed and Star takes them inside. Alyssa walked inside behind he fellow Titan who stood between her and what might be her only living family member most likely to her safe she thinks to herself.
After stepping in the tower and feeling the warmth did she realize just how cold it was outside. Each steps she takes she can hear and feel the water in her socks. Her clothes hugged her body and her hair was totally soaked.
She couldn’t have been more happy to see the towel in her friends hand then she was at that moment. It was the best towel she had ever used taking off her socks and boots she dries her feet and leaves. She throws the towel over one shoulder and before she could figure out what to do with her boots and socks Star pulls her in the rec-room causing her to drop her socks.
Sitting down she rubs her arm as it was soar Star must not have known how hard she had grab her. She sits down at the table slightly slouching while leaning to the side. She squeezes the towel on her shoulder as what felt like a million question flew throughout her mind.
“Eledore I want to believe you are here to help but after Anthony it’s hard! Why did it take you so long to get here and what does your sister want and why kill your mother and my brother?”
Releasing her towel and wiping the hair from her face Alyssa sits and listens to him. She was now finding that she was hoping that he was really there to help and having a Harbin to help he train would be a plus.

* Allright... this is a start.*
* As my tuner lands on the ground... Alyssa holsters hers, staring blankly back at me as her team-mate picks up my charm. I can see confusion in her eyes as she tries to judge my sincerity. I can't really blame her for being cautious after all that's happened. Suddenly, a communicator on the woman's wrist clicks on... a voice indicating the Security is back on and she's free to come back inside.*
* that... explains a lot.*
* Barbarella tells us both we're likely to catch our death of cold... and instructs us both to sort out this mess inside the tower. I wait for Alyssa move in first, but before either of us can, the lady put her hand down on my shoulder... my left shoulder... and squeezes. I wretch a bit, my 'party favor' from Vegas getting 'aggravated' by her grip. It's like my shoulders been shoved into a damn vice. She tells me she's keeping a hold of my tuner, and this demonstration of her physical prowess is just a way to get a point across... mainly what'll happen if I make any suspicious moves.*
" Yes... yes Ma'am."
* She legs go... I get half a moment to rub my shoulder before she shoves me ahead, forcing me to take point while she and Alyssa come in behind. I keep my hands up as I keep walking, the ladies keeping pace with me from behind.*
* Yeah... I don't think I'll be brining up anything about 'lax security' while she's around.*
* We make it inside, all of us looking like drowned rats. I know I FEEL like one right now. Carefully I unbutton my coat and let it flop into a wet heap on the floor. I finally manage to get this damned vest off when the Lady hands me a towel. I see the ladies drying themselves off... and turn to keep my back to them. They deserve a little privacy. It just takes pulling the kneepads, my boots, and drenched socks off before I'm 'ready'. Even now, I'm still a shivering wet sack standing barefoot in their entryway.*
* The desert might not get you used to heat, but it sure makes you forget cold.*
* Our Orange hostess leads us back to a rec-room... Insisting we have a seat while she stands, my tuner still dangling dangling from her fingers as she insists to hear my side of the story. At the same time, Alyssa is sitting nervously on another couch. Still shivering, she rubs her arm where her superior grabbed her. She says she wants to believe me... but is hesitant after what happened to Tony. She wants to know whats going on... why I took so long... and what motivated Silva into killing Tony and my Mother.*
* I have to say... this isn't going to be easy to talk about....*
I'm sorry... it took me and Grandfather a while to decipher the texts... and I got a little... sidetracked on my way over**.
* I sit there for a second.... contemplating how to put this. I feel like some private ready to serve bad news to a 5 star general. It was hard enough explaining to Grandfather what happened... and he's had decades of experience on his side.*
When she disappeared those years ago... she wasn't killed... she was kidnapped. Fallen Kin took her and tormented her for all that time... I only sensed her on the return trip home, and by the time I got there... it... it was too late.
* I get a little choked up... thinking back to that night.... thinking back to how I found her. Bruised... bloody... broken...*
Something didn't go right when she died... she didn't pass over... years of anger, of bitter feelings... the despair she felt... it turned her into some kind of Wraith.
* My fist clenches... my jaw locking, trying to fight back frustration and sorrow that ferments in my mind.*
I'm sorry Alyssa. If I hadn't enlisted.. if I'd been there to protect her in the first place this never would have happened.

Alyssa sits and listens to Eledore as he explains. She remembers her aunt telling her about Silva’s disappearance From her aunt now that she looks back it, That was one of that few talks she had with her over the phone.
Her aunt gave her the tuner she uses now she was going to use it the fight her cousin. Alyssa always loved her cousin Silva even though she didn’t feel the love returned. She always thought her cousin was beautiful and want to be like she tried and tried to get her to like her but never even got her to smile once.
She always felt bad about that and promised herself that when she got back to her aunts she would not quit until that changed. if she knew she had been kidnapped and hurt she would have done all she could to find her.
Deep within Alyssa was a struggle she hated her for killing Anthony but she felt for. She felt bad about having ill feeling towards a family member she wanted to get revenge and she had to for not only Anthony’s sake but Silva’s mothers as well.
“Eledore I can forgive you, But I don’t think I can ever forgive Silva!”
She choked out Silva name fighting the urge to cry. She would never know her mothers people because of being banned for being what she was. There were times she wished she could escape the whole thing so Eledore taking his shot doesn’t upset her.
“I am not allowed to enter my mothers village because they didn’t know what I was, If it wasn’t for your mother I wouldn’t know myself she gave me my Tuner and I will always be thankful I also am very grateful to Starfire and the rest of the team if not for them I wouldn’t have a place to stay!”
The Titans have been giving and very understanding. They have not only helped during her darkest point they have helped her get in shape. None of them being a Harbin and very little information being available made it hard for her to train beyond the basics.
“You took a huge chance by coming here for me! I get the feeling your not just here to protect me am I wrong?”

* I wait for her reaction with baited breath, feeling confliction churning around inside her. Emotions welling up. She's certainly angry... I know... I've seen brothers fall before. It's one thing for it to be on the battlefeild... to be the act of strangers.... but another for the perpetrator to be someone you loved. It deepens the wound... literally tearing your heart asunder. I shudder to imagine actually seeing it happen before your eyes.*
* The question is... where this anger is directed at? Me or my Sister.*
* She's nearly in tears when we're given an answer.... I may have gotten a repreive... but my sister isn't as lucky. Not only did she loose her brother, killed right before her eyes... but she lost her teacher... a mother who took her in when her own family forsook her. Even while having this new family to console her, crimes of this magnitude aren't easily forgiven.*
* Now comes a question which I've dreaded being brought up... as she asks for my intentions... if I am just here to help her... or if there's something else driving me.*
* I sigh... pinching my temples. This... kind of puts me in an awkward position. That... came up quicker than I thought. I was hoping I'd be given a little time to think of a decent explanation. One that wouldn't sound cold-blooded. As it is now, I'd be lucky for this orange Amazon not to skip me across the bay like a stone.*
"You're right."
* My eyes open as I speak*
"We tried for months to try to find her. Looked everywhere we could think of... any place of significance she would want to hide... but found nothing. She's either dropped off the face of the earth... or she's hiding."
* Even in death, spirits tend to be creatures of habit. Their little idiosyncrasies and preferences lingering in the hereafter. This could be the routines they stuck to in life... or inhabiting places of emotional significance. Even with Silva's present state, it was worth a shot.*
* The place of her death; that fetid dungeon she languished in for those 8 years... her childhood home... even that orchard where we used to play. Nothing. Not even a trace. It's not the fact I didn't find her... but the fact I can't find any trace that bugs me. There should be a trail... something I could track. I find it hard to believe she'd gain the ability to mask her presence so quickly.*
"According to the texts... this kind of spirit is driven by vengeance. She blames you for all the torment she endured... her killing your brother was an effort to make you suffer. I fear soon she's going to try again.... this time attacking you directly. And I intend to be waiting."
* I look up... looking Alyssa straight in the eyes.*
"The best way to protect you... is to purify Silva. And while I know this sounds cold blooded of me... right now, you're the only lead I have."
* I'm sympathetic to Alyssa's suffering. But I can barely fathom the kind of suffering that Silva has had to endure, and continues to endure. She does not deserve to be left like this... filled with rage and left to wander.*
* I failed her before... I won't fail her again.*

Silva was captured and hurt she knew nothing about it. She didn’t know how to feel she knew her cousin seemed to disappear but with Silva that was nothing strange she always seemed to have something against her.
Listening to Eledore she could only imagine the things he cousin went through. Alyssa couldn’t help but ask herself why didn’t her aunt tell her that she was missing they could have looked for her together.
She always wanted a normal relationship with her cousin or at least like the ones she saw on TV. A girl around her age some one that she could almost be normal with. But that was impossible then and now that she is dead it can never be.
She couldn’t look into Eledore’s eyes she knew his hear was in the right place but she was way to confused part of her that still loved her as family wanted to do as he suggested but the other part wanted revenge.
Maybe she could ask Star for some advice when they get a chance to be alone. She knew one thing she was not going to lie to him he could end up being her only living family left and she would not want him to lie to her.
“Eledore this all seems like so much I have no idea why I wasn’t told about Silva, I should have known something was wrong. I always admired her wanted to be like her she seemed so confident and strong! That aside I cant lie to you if the chance comes in a fight I can‘t say I wont end it!”
She surprised herself at as cold as that sounded but she knew she had that in her. If things started to go bad and Eledore couldn’t do it she would to make sure there were going to be no more Anthony’s it would have to end.

I notice Alyssa grabbing her arm, and regret holding her so sternly. Sometimes I forget to manage my strength around others, and I was on edge using it to keep her cousin mindful of his surroundings. But she breaks into the questions almost instantly, so I sit and listen to them talk. He tells us what actually happened to Silva, and his role in things, it's really as heartbreaking as what happened to Anthony and Alyssa. Alyssa is on the ball though, asking his intentions right up front, even as emotional as she is, wanting to know the facts. He admits he's here to protect her, but his real goal is saving Silva, his sister. I must admit, I know where he is. My own sister Blackfire... the things I've been through because of her. I can easily understand where he is coming from. Alyssa admits she wants to end it in a different manner if the chance arises, and I can see where she is coming from as well. She watched Silva shove an Axe through her brother's back. If she didn't feel this way, I'd be a bit concerned on her grieving processes, really. I nod to them both, handing the man back his charm.
[shadow=purple,left,300]"Well if Silva's going to come back for another shot, one way or another, this situation is going to be dealt with. Do either of you have any ideas how she might attack? We might be able to do more if we're prepared."[/shadow]
((OOC: we may be able to end soon, and move into the Faction's attack... just a thought.))

"... you do what you have to... if your life is in danger and there's no other option... I won't hold it against you."
* I say solemnly... staring down to the floor... watching the puddle at my feet dissipate as my mind mulls over the cold... bitter words that passed over my cousin's lips. I honestly wish she hadn't gotten caught up in this. Grown men can barely cope with the horror of watching their brothers in arms die. She's barely a young woman... still a child, and should never have to have seen that.*
* Moments pass... my sullen reflection broken by the lights glimmer of my Tuner. The woman has seen fit to return my weapon to me... then asks if Silva is indeed coming back... if either of us know how to put up a proper defense.*
* Sadly, I'm at a bit of a loss. I know of some Runes and other charms used in sealing, and either defending or imprisoning spirits. The problem comes from the fact these where meant for uses in Churches, Shrines, and Temples, meant to be engraved during construction... and to my knowledge never in buildings this size. I brought some of grandfathers texts... but their left back in the car...*
