First Name: Mikail Ivan
Last Name: Emmetovich
Alias or Nick-name: Cremator, Blacksmith of Hell, Guardian of Hell, Hell’s Guardian
Age: Age has not meaning in a place that is timeless
Height/Weight: 7’1/350 lbs.
Eyes: Yellow (when not enraged), Hellfire-Red (when enraged)
Hair: Bald
Persuasion: Evil
Powers/Weapons: Cremator is an undead being, and as such can not be killed unless by extreme or mystically powerful means. Thus, he is able to withstand a huge barrage of pain and abuse, and is able to heal from even the most fatal of wounds. He has shown to be able to control Hellfire, both in great amount and intensity, with ease. Though, ever since he has taken up the responsibility of being Hell’s Guardian, he is able to convert his entire body into Hellfire, and channel large amounts of Hellfire into himself.
Before dying, he had already had experience with wielding weapons and hand-to-hand combat, and since coming to Hell, those abilities have been honed greatly, being able to wield any type of weapon. He has shown to be a master at crafting and making all shorts of weapons, even creating Lady Death’s swords, Apocalypse and Scynister. His own sword, Demonslayer, is powerful enough to ‘kill’ demons permanently. He has also shown to be one of the only beings in Hell who can wield The Spear of Destiny (the fabled spear the pieced the side of Jesus Christ at his crucifixion) without being destroyed by it.
History: Little is known about the man named Mikail Ivan Emmetovich before his death. What is known is that he was considered to be a scholar and a barbarian. He was also known as a thief, skilled in the art of stealth. At some point in his life, he was a warrior fighting in a holy war. He and his forces were betrayed by a powerful sorcerer named Matthias. After seeing his love Isabella dead, he too was killed and given the choice of who went to Heaven and Hell: him or Isabella. He chose to go to Hell, to which he then became a slave to one of the archdukes of the 7th layer of Hell, Cyr. He eventually rose from Cyr’s slave pits and was given power to create weapons, and became Blacksmith of Hell. This talent led him to make weapons to fight against Matthias, the same man who killed him and his love, and was raging civil war against Hell’s ruler, Lucifer.
Eventually, Cremator gained his freedom through his own will, and began fighting the forces of Matthias. In a chance meeting, he met Matthias’ daughter Hope. She swore to kill her father and ordered Cremator to make her a sword to do just that. He did, and then pledged allegiance with her. He also gave her a garb that was meant to be Purgatori’s wedding dress to Lucifer, to which she accepted and announced that she no longer Hope, but Lady Death. They fought Matthias’ forces together, but saw that he lost his fight with Lucifer.
Later, after Lady Death defeated Lucifer, Cremator sought to help her find her mother’s spirit, but they were both possessed by demons. After a few madness episodes induced by the possessions, Lady Death and Cremator decided to purify themselves separately. Lady Death completes her journey, but Cremator was lost. He was later found by Purgatori and twisted him with her lies, ordering him to forge a sword for her. She then ordered him to attack Lady Death, but was knocked back to his senses. He then helped her later on to become the new ruler of Hell.
For a time, Lady Death was removed from Hell by Lucifer’s former court jester Pagan, leaving Hell up for grabs. During this time, Cremator soon discovered a plot in which the Trinity of Evil were planning to annihilate Hell. After confronting the archduke Cyr and making him swear allegiance with him, Cremator then traveled to the Hell city Dis to forge an another alliance with the mad angel Apoylon, but was quickly betrayed. After defeating hordes of Wraiths, commanded by the Trinity of Evil, he then battles against the grand-duke of Hell Asteroth, and nearly dies. But before he dies, his body is teleported to the Badlands, while his spirit meets up with the Lady of Mysteries. She tells him of the enemies that seek to destroy Hell, and offers to make him the Guardian of Hell. After first he refuses, but then reluctantly agrees. After his spirit and body join together, Zaron the Deliverer send him to Cocytus, where he acquires the Spear of Destiny. He uses the spear to brutally wound Asteroth, and was then called away to face Apoylon and the Trinity of Evil, who were already fighting for the honor of destroying Hell. After killing two of the fallen angels, Belial and Mephistopheles, he confronts Apoylon. After the dying fallen angel Asmodeus punchers an opening in Apoylon’s neck, Cremator transforms into living hellfire and burns him alive from the inside, winning the war and stopping the civil war for a time.
This does not last, however, and the feuds continued. Cremator began searching for Lady Death again. He hunted her demonic duplicate Lady Demon, thinking that she was connected to his mistress. Some time later, Lady Death returned to reclaim Hell, to which he agreed to help. After raising an army, they asked Lucifer’s eldest son Thanatos if he will join her. This turned to a confrontation, with Lady Death beheading Thanatos and sending it to Arch Dukes as a message. When she fought Arch Dukes, she became weak, allowing her sword Nightmare to take over and kill all but Cremator. After the confrontation, Lady Death was teleported away, and Cremator was imprisoned by Leviatha. He was then rescued by Lady Death and saw her defeat one of Heaven’s assassins, Galilean, using Hell itself. She then tried to transport them both to the Endless Graveyard, but only he reach it. When she does come, he injures him with the Death Scythe during a fight with her father Matthias, killing him.
He later returns in Las Vegas, the now Earth-based Hell, where he confronts Lady Death with tampered memories but was defeated. After his memories returned, he returned to Hell and creates her newest sword Apocalypse, which she uses to defeat Leviatha. It was soon after that the early tides of the Judgment War began, to which Cremator fought feverishly by his mistress’ side against both the forces of Hell, and the angelic armies of Heaven. During this time, he was asked to look after Lady Death’s sister Vandala, who sought asylum after Asgard fell to Purgatori. Also, using the Lucifer Machine, he creates weapons for Lady D’s army, as well as a new suit of armor for his mistress. The machine, however, turned out to be under Lucifer’s control the whole time, as well as all items made with it like Lady D’s new armor. He and the other forces of Hell tried to defeat the machine, but it was only his mistress that could finally destroy it and free the souls within. He then follows her forces to Heaven’s Gate itself to wage war on Heaven, and it was here that he killed St. Peter. The battle raged until Lady Death destroyed Heaven device, the Jehovex Machine, destroying Heaven and winning the battle. All those except his mistress seemed to have perished.
Cremator did not die, however, but was a prisoner of Nocturne. When his mistress arrives she battles Nocturne, while the blacksmith Brock worked to return the living flame that was extinguished from Cremator. He regained his strength, but his return to his ladies side was short lived, as she was resurrected again on Earth after her battle against Abaddon. He continued his duty for looking after her sister until they were summoned to help her against the Dark One and Morgana. After returning a living Hope home, he tried to help her become Hell’s leader again, and with the help of Brock, creates her side weapon Scynister. After defeating Morgana and regaining Apocalypse, she becomes Lady Death once more. And to this day, he continues his duties of being her ally, and protecting Hell as its guardian.
