Kayleigh traveled to China and Japan after graduating from Gotham law school for 2 years where she studied several different styles of Martial Arts and several different styles of sword fighting skills which in return helped honed her knife fighting skills. She is a master black belt in several different Martial Arts including Shaolin Kempo fighting skills and is expert street brawler. Kayleigh is very versatile when it comes to handling weapons nothing she can’t see use as weapon or weapons.

History Kayleigh’s parents emigrated from Ireland to Gotham City where they settled down on the south side of town. Her father was previously a Belfast Police Officer prior to coming to Gotham City, and he worked for Gotham City Police for many years. Kayleigh always admired what her father did for a living and she hoped that would follow in his footsteps when she grew up. Her parents were Catholic and they brought Kayleigh up as a catholic also she had a normal childhood. Until her parents were killed in a tragic car accident and she managed to survive the accident with minor injuries when she was 14 years old, she was shaken to the core, and she was placed in Gotham’s Orphanage until she was 18 years old. After getting out of High School she went to Gotham law school to become a police officer like her father was and make her dream come true. After graduating from law school, Kayleigh was invited to travel to China and Japan to study abroad from a former friend of Kayleigh’s father in Ireland.
After two years of studying in China and Japan Kayleigh returned to Gotham City where she applied for a position at Gotham City Police Department, a short wait Kayleigh was hired and she worked hard at her job and was excellent at the work. Always carrying out orders that were given to her, never questioned anyone not even the higher ups. Always on time for work never calls in and works over-time when the opportunity can and took the full advantage when others declined and also gone and above the call of duty, by saving an infant from a burning apartment complex.
The job is down right nasty, rough and very demanding. Kayleigh love the challenge like her father was determined to make herself a name and to be an honest and good officer. Putting in very long hours and hard work for several years were about to pay off when work took a huge tool on Kayleigh and broke her in half physically and somewhat mentally.
Receiving orders to look into a mugging, when Kayleigh arrived as she heard terrified screams she went to check out where the commotion was coming from, entering a dark alley with her weapon out she moved her flashlight around and she discovered the mugging she froze for a moment seeing 4 thugs two of the thugs were beating the victim and the other two were rapping the victim. Kayleigh felt sick to her stomach she has dealt with so much since she has been an officer of the law and now she has seen in action what she didn’t want to see, her temper flared she tried to capture the thugs they ran off before she could get them. Kayleigh called for medical help. The victim was her close friend they were roommates at the orphanage for a short time.
She asked her friend what happened. The victim told Kayleigh what she could remember and also told Kayleigh that she was a good friend and she was sorry for not staying in touch with her before the victim died in Kayleigh’s arms before Medical help could arrive.
Being from a strong catholic family this just outraged Kayleigh she knew life wasn’t fair at times but to have her parents and now her best friend taken away from her how could one be a strong Christian when there was so much crime and everyone hating each other, she wanted to find the men and them the justice they deserved. After giving the information that she gotten from her best friend and her statement of what she saw before the men ran off and gave some detail of what the thugs looked like.
The Commish told Kayleigh that someone else would investigate the murder. This out raged Kayleigh left her badge on Gordon’s desk and stormed out of the police station she would never be an officer of the law again. She simply would take matters into her own hands. She broke her promise that she would follow in her father’s footsteps of being a good office she felt sorry but she knew she had to do what her heart told her.
Using brute force, with some of the thugs to get information out of them about the thugs who attacked and killed her best friend; if she couldn’t get the information she would simply beat the crap out the street thug and leaving a cross on the thugs right forearm and leaving the street thug to think about what happened, finally finding one of the four thugs who raped and killed her best friend she got what info she needed then she half beaten the thug and repeated what she had done before to the other street thugs.
Several weeks of hiding and being out of sight from the police and planner her attack on the remaining three thugs she was after, the night had come and Kayleigh headed out with her weapons. Word had been out on the streets that an attack would happened when Kayleigh found the remaining thugs she was going to give them the same hell as her friend. Only to be interfered with the Boywonder, who tried to reason with Kayleigh saying the thugs would get the justice they deserved. Robin didn’t want to fight Kayleigh but was ready if needed to be.
Kayleigh wasn’t going to back down and was going through what she had started and would finish it. Even if meant she have to seriously hurt the Boywonder.
A fight broke out between Kayleigh and the Boywonder and the thugs got the chance they needed and high tailed it and went into hiding. The fight only lasted a short time and she was captured by the Boywonder, the Boywonder turned her in to the police. Kayleigh was brought to Blackgate Prison after a short while she fell into a deep depression and was somewhat aggressive towards the prison guards and inmates, though the depression and being aggressive didn’t last long Kayleigh snapped out of that within a few months and after being there and served her sentence time without any other insentient, and she was released from prison after serving her sentence of 5 years.
