First Name: Motoko
Last Name: Gettou
Alias or Nick-name: Hibiki, Fujiko, Mikiri, Zero
Age: 16
Height/Weight: 5’3”/ 108lbs
Eyes: Brown/black (zero)
Hair: Dark brown (Motoko), Brownish Red (Hibiki), Blue (Fujiko), Light Brown (Mikiri), Black (Zero)
Persuasion: Good, Evil (Zero)
Powers/Weapons: HiFuMi ("Hibiki", "Fujiko" and "Mikiri") appears when Motoko experiences strong emotions. The three personalities are in constant communication with each other, but cannot communicate with Motoko. While all of them have different appearances, which is caused by a change in the muscualar layout of Motoko’s body when she changes, and while it is fairly easy to tell them appart most of the time, they still resemble Motoko enough to pass as her, provided they aren’t scrutinized to closely. THis also gives Motoko the advantage in that she must be KO'ed four times to actually stay unconcious, allowing her to fight for much much longer than a normal person.
Hibiki: Specilizing in unarmed combat, Hibiki is the strongest, physically, of Motoko’s entities except Zero. Easily a karate master, Hibiki excells at close range combat, using hard hiting, direct attacks to overpower foes. While intelligent, she prefers to simply rush in and forgo any sort of plan, though if faced with an opponent she cannot overpower, she has shown herself to be cabable of analyzing them for weaknesses.
Fujiko: Trained in the use of weapons and firearms, Fujiko is the fastest of the HiFuMi. While skilled in the use of all firearms, she also has displayed skill in the use of swords and knives, implying her training included melee weaponry as well. Her marksmanship is top notch, as are her reflexes. She has been shown to dodge bullets by reading the opponents movments and out manuvering them. Probably her greatest weapon is her level headedness and analytical preception, using tactics and stratagy to outmanuver and outwit opponents.
Mikiri: Instructed in the use of grappling holds, submission locks and throws, Mikiri has the strongest defense of the three. Able to break bones and dislodge joints, or KO opponents by cutting of their ability to breath, Mikiri is probably comparable to Hibiki interms of the danger she presents at close range. Her childish nature also makes her prone to unusual, often times unpredictable or outright weird, tactics, which confuse even stalwart opponents. She has been shown to be very strong, overpowering physically impossing individuals, though her use of grappling manuveres may have played a factor. She often turns an opponents strength back against them, such as strangling a muscular opponent with their own arms, the large bicepts preventing them from relaxing the muscle and allowing them to breath.
Zero: Zero is positivly deadly. Possessing the combined skills of Hibiki, Fujiko and Mikiri, Making her all but undefeatably by normal opponents, probably putting her at near peak human level skill in terms of fighting ability and physical conditioning. More dangerious than even this is her complete and utter disregard for life, to the point where she was capable of ripping a mans arm of without showing any sign of expression. Zero is so dangerious that two of the three fathers of Motoko, both of whom were world class martial artists, we’re only just able to match her skills in combat, and this was when Motoko was still a little girl, only just beginning her training. She so overwhelmed the two that they were terrified to approach her, even after she lost conciousness. Thankfully, the limits on when zero may be released midigate the anger she presents, as Motoko’s body will no doubt be on its last legs by the time Zero is released. The first time she emerged, Zero only was able to stay out for three minutes before blacking out. Now that Motoko is older, it is likely her endurance has increased, allowing Zero a larger window of opportunity.
History: Motoko Gettou is the protagonist of the series. Motoko's mother died when she was very young and she was adopted by three combat specialists. These "Three Fathers" trained her in karate, swordsmanship, submission techniques, close quarters combat and the handling of firearms. As a result of their rigorous training, she developed three distinct personalities collectively known as "HiFuMi". Motoko sees HiFuMi as a burden and wants to live a normal life, but knows they are just trying to look after her safety. Though she is shy she slowly starts to warm up to Kouskegawa, but nervously states they are just friends every time someone suggests that they are a couple. Yet around the new year celebration, they start going out and unexpectedly find soon after that their fathers arranged them to be fiancees, however she turns the offer down as she wishes to fuse with Zero before considering marriage. As Tsukishima noted, Motoko appears to be particularly physically strong on account that Tsukishima sensed several pounds of muscle after groping her body (comically leading to several other girls to group her as well to where she past out). Indeed, while Motoko is a powerful combatant even without HiFuMi, her shy and passive nature often restricts her from making use of her fighting capacity to the fullest. Even Sora stated she can't sense any martial art skills coming from her.
It is revealed later that "Motoko" may not be the original personality but merely a "host" personality, meaning that the real Motoko might actually be Zero. The identity known thus far as "Motoko" may simply be another split personality, constructed in order to handle everyday life while perceiving herself to be the true identity.
Hibiki: An aggressive tomboy who is particularly skilled in karate and represented by Red (attack). She is always looking for or instigating fights. Through her father's training she takes a head-on approach with anything, be it training (instead of dodging the log she punches through it), getting Kosukegawa to admit his fellings to Motoko by kissing him and changing into her so he would finally kiss her, and even with her own feelings as she kissed him for his birthday present, then stated that she would give him something more for his next birthday. She has also found the idea to be married, having a family and be with Kosukegawa all the time would be like a dream, even calling him "darling". However, after she lost to Ginga in front of Kosukegawa, she was too embarrassed to show her face to him for two months. Out of the three personalities, she is the most common to appear since she is the one most eager to jump into a fight. Currently Hibiki is the only one of HiFuMi to have not yet fused with Zero.
Fujiko: Calm -- almost to the point of appearing cold-blooded -- and proficient in the use of weapons and represented by Blue (speed); indeed, she is the quickest of the four personalities, outside Zero herself. She is also the most mature and adult-like of the three personalities; hence, she is also the most analytical, almost to the point of being strategic. She doesn't seem to care for food that isn't nutritious in any way, but now has a liking for ice-cream because of Kosukegawa. Because of her marksman skills, she is a natural at video games, but tends to use a lot of ammo in shooting games as she was trained to shoot the head and the heart. She is shown to be stronger than Hibiki, where as Hibiki lost to Ginga, Fujiko easily defeats Hino, who is the current Gadam. Though she doesn't believe she is in love with Kouskegawa, she admits she is fond of him and that he is a very dear person to her. Though she has challenged Hino to see if she was strong enough to protect him and after seeing Kosukegawa stabbed and mortally wounded by an American soldier, Fujiko was so angered by the thought of losing him that she fused with Zero in anger to avenge him. But after learning that Kosukegawa's 'blood' was actually juice, she was embarrassed to have gone so far over nothing.
Mikiri: The child-like expert in grappling and submission moves and represented by Yellow (defense). All Mikiri wants is to play like other children, although like a child, she can easily be scared into fainting and possesses child-like cruelty, showing excitement at the prospect of scratching and clawing a man's eyes out. A constant gag with Mikiri is that when she takes control, her body form changes (described by Motoko as a change in her muscle placement), inevitably increasing her bust size and causing anything less than a shirt (bra, bikini, etc.) to rip apart. She has a very large appetite, able to eat all 31 flavors of ice cream in a single sitting. Of the three personalities, she appears least often and has more of a child-like attraction towards Kosukegawa, stating that she would miss playing with him if he was killed. Mikiri would often visit an elderly neighbor of Motoko's whom she referred to as Granny, as the elderly woman would often make her ohagi to eat (an amount Motoko herself couldn't stomach). In chapter 41 Granny died, leaving one last batch of ohagi that Mikiri vowed to finish. When this batch of ohagi was dropped and ruined by would-be muggers, an enraged Mikiri fused with Zero to exact revenge, only to be brought back to her senses by the fact that she would have crushed Granny's ohagi if she had continued fighting. However, true to her child-like nature, Mikiri, joined by Kosukegawa, ate the ohagi off of the street, forcing the muggers to do the same.
Motoko has another personality within her that represents all her repressed anger and hatred; this fourth personality is called Zero.
Zero: The most dangerous of all her personalities and represented by Black (a mixture of all three colors). She is ruthless, emotionless (evident by the permanently vapid look on her eyes as she attacks), inhumanly strong to point of being able to tear off limbs, endure direct attacks without flinching (even completely ignoring an opponent's hold that would have broken her arm), and will attack almost anyone she sees with intent to kill. She has all the skills of the other personalities as well as the capacity to utilize them with alarming coordination but she has no mercy for anyone, not even for Kuruma Takezou, one of the "Three Fathers", where when she first came out even as a little girl two of the "Three Fathers" were terrified to approach her when she past out. She has all the traits of a natural born killer. Despite being by far the most powerful of Motoko's personalities, she has two condition that must be met before she can take over: each of the three personalities that make up HiFuMi must be defeated before she comes to the surface, making her somewhat of a last resort for Motoko, and for HiFuMi to go through extreme anger. Such as seeing Kosukegawa being hurt severely. [1] How she was named Zero was because that was the only word she has ever said, appearing to be a reference as HiFuMi means 1, 2 and 3, so when she is called out is like counting down (3, 2, 1, 0). However, if one of HiFuMi is experiencing extreme rage, Zero is able to fuse with them, giving them a strong boost of power but driving them into a killing frenzy.[2] As a side note, unlike HiFuMi, and Motoko, her breasts are the smallest, resembling more of a child-like body [3], a trait that has carried over to the members of HiFuMi she has fused with -- as Fujiko and Mikiri fused with Zero, their physiques changed in turn to more closely resemble Zero's. Currently HiFuMi, Motoko, the Three Fathers, Kosukegawa and Kannami are working on a way to remove Zero, who is essentally the hatred and rage of all of the personalities by having HiFuMi experience the joys of a normal life. It is also theorized by Kannami to Mokoto that she could fragment a new personality if she does not go through with the therapy.
